It’s still just a rumor, but it sounds interesting. Leopard, the soon to be released mac operating system, is going to have a new overall 3D-feature. Much like Exposé, but available for the whole operating system and the applications. It will probably be based on OpenGL, like Core Animation and other OS X 3D-features. This should give us the upper hand against Vista’s new nice looking Aero-interface. The new Aero-interface looks nice, but it needs a very powerful computer, which usually means a new computer. Apple tends to develop things differently and a new operating system works just as well with older generation computers.

There’s been also a lot of rumors about the Leopard release date. Especially after MacWorld, because we didn’t see any new features or anything. People have been speculating that the release is going to be delayed a lot. Lately we reports from Apple have stated that Leopard is still on schedule and the release date will be before the end of June. I’m really looking forward to Leopard, because I’ll upgrade my iBook to MacBook after I can get it with Leopard.
