Eto’o scored after a couple of minutes with a great shot which surprised the Recreativo’s defense and especially the goalkeeper. After that the game was basically over. Barça hold the ball the whole game. First periods possession was around 72 - 28 for Barça. Zambrotta scored at around the 40th minute and Eto’o scored his second soon after that. Second period was less exciting. Barça just hold the ball and didn’t make many chances. Recreativo even had a more shots, but not anything too threatening. Messi showed his skill and determination by scoring at the last minutes.
I don’t really have anything bad to say of any of the Barça players. Few mistakes by the defenders and some selfish moves by the forwards, but when the end score is 4-0, you can’t really blame them. I think the best players were Eto’o, Messi and Iniesta. Ronaldinho was too heavily guarded and he didn’t really have any chances to shine.
The run for the title looks good for us. Valencia lost 0-2 at home to Racing. Real Madrid will face Gimnàstic Tarragona at Santiago Bernabéu and Madrid will probably win. If they won’t, I’ll probably have to take a bus to Tarragona and congratulate the neighbor city myself. Sevilla will face Celta at this weeks most import game at home. I have the feeling that they won’t get the full three points and Barça can relax a bit. Let’s hope so.
Now I have to relax myself and head to bed, because Formula 1 season starts tonight. Well, actually tomorrow morning at 4 CET. I’ll try to get to sleep early and wake up for the race. Kimi started his career at Ferrari at the best possible way by getting the best time at the qualification this morning and starting from the pole position. It’s going to be weird to cheer for Ferrari for the first time since Mika Salo was driving for them at 1999. Kimi’s biggest competition Fernando Alonso will start next to him at second place.
My predictions:
- Kimi (Räikkönen, Ferrari) will win the race.
- Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) will continue his great performance and finish third.
- Felipe Massa (Ferrari) and Heikki Kovalainen (Renault) are not going to disappoint in the race and they’ll both get points from the race.
