Okay. The night was awfully hot again. I couldn’t get any sleep at first. Things went through my head and I was really worried what I’m going to do. I checked every once in while if the connection was up again, but no. And finally I even fell to sleep. I woke at 6am. A bit more relaxed, but still scared. I opened my iBook and yeah, the connection was up again. Now some help, please.

So, first thing was with my huge luggage, where to put in safe. I found that there were 3 stations in the centre city area that had big lockers. But no guarantee that my luggage will fit there or is there even any lockers free. The cost was around 5€/day. I drew maps and made notes to help me find there. Then I started to find the hostel. There weren’t many places that had free rooms for longer period. I needed a room for 4 nights, because after that my dear friend from Finland, who’s working here, will also come to Barcelona and promised to help me and let me stay there for few days.

So 4 nights, where to stay. The only thing that I found was these 2 youth hostels. Where I had to share a room with 8-16 strangers for 20€/night. Not very appealing. I also had to take my luggage to the other part of the city far away and come back to the hostel, hoping that the maps I drew were enough. But I had to do what I had to do. Or did I. Finally I came a across this hostel that had free room for 4 nights and even lockable private room for 35€/night. The only thing was that I had to call there before I could check in. It took me few minutes to get together and then I called praying that he/she will speak english. A man answered speaking perfect english. Okay, I was saved.

I had to meet him in the Plaza de Catalunya in the middle of Barcelona in front of Hard Rock Cafe. I went there early, because I had to get some money from an ATM also. I waited for him for half hour and when the time was 11am, when were supposed to meet, I called again and then we met. He took me to this small street next to La Rambla, which is the main/tourist street in here and opened a door to a house with no signs of a hostel. The place was actually very nice. All new. Had this huge fan in my room. The room was pretty big and great. I had to share the common areas with other guests (I didn’t see any in few days).

There was a wireless internet also. I started from loquo again. Tried to find posts in english, but the weren’t many. I made few calls, but couldn’t make many contacts. Couple of days went by. I only went to the university at the morning and looked for apartments for the rest of the days. It wasn’t so great. It was hot, I was in a new beautiful city and I was eager to go look around, have a few beers and experience. But no, post after post. I looked from www.maps.google.esas where were the flats located and tried to find good ones. I had few showings on Friday. First one was mediocre, but awfully expensive. The other one was just awful. Later in the evening I made my first call only in spanish. I was so happy, I made it. I had to go buy a pack of beers.
